A fresh series of paintings celebrating the warmth, abundance and belonging found in garden spaces.
I began the Garden Grown Collection with a longing to paint with complete freedom, to layer colors and strokes without expectation, to be open to whatever surprises the work might bring me.
And as I painted, the voice of this collection began to quietly emerge. Foxgloves and dahlias, irises and peonies bloomed on my canvas. And birds also came, weaving their way amidst the foliage, perching on stems.
Creating in the summertime gave me the desire to fully embrace that warmth in these paintings, the feeling of walking through a beautifully tended garden - all your senses alive and enveloped in the warmth of the sun, the earthy-sweet scents of grass and blooming flowers, the lively movements of songbirds against the swaying branches, the jewel flash of a hummingbird.
A beautifully tended garden can be a humble act of love and generosity, full simple, yet meaningful joys, and I hope these paintings bring a tase of that joy to you.
